Down to the smallest detail
Cirque du Soleil wouldn't be the same without its stunning creativity. So let's take a closer look at the artists - especially their make up. Everything is done down to the smallest detail. The colors are carefully chosen and blended, each line is straight, every dot is in its place. It looks like their makeup is done by professionals, but the truth is they do it by themselves. Each artist gets a folder with instructions on how to apply makeup step by step. They have to use right sponges, brushes, and products in correct order. There are some abilities that the artist must learn to achieve the perfect design, for example how to blend contours or eyeshadows.
Artists that are known as 'the frogs' have the most difficult look to create. It is the most detailed one and requires the airbrushed products. It is a long process because as Eric Hernandez (one of the artist) said they spend as much time performing as they spend doing makeup.

I understand they apply make to their faces only and the rest of the body is covered with a costume. Do they paint their hands as well?
